This administrative center, whose official name is José María Córdova, is home to both Provincial and City Governments. Each occupies a functional building, which separated by an ample square, is a mirror image of the other. The City Council Building, the Province of Antioquia Assembly Hall, Edatel, Teleantioaquia, and the Prosecuting Attorney’s Office, as well as the refurbished former Ferrocarril de Antioquia railroad station are all found in the area adjacent to the complex. The square separating the two main buildings boasts representative artwork of well-known Colombian artists, especially the Homenaje a la raza (Homage to our Heritage) sculpture by Master Sculptor Rodrigo Arenas Betancur.
