This imposing site catches the eye for its awe-inspiring architecture and design inspired in organic forms. Ten steel tree-flower structures with a pine overlay stretch over this 53,819-square-foot open space. Colombia’s national flower, the orchid, finds in this, the “José Jerónimo Triana” Orquideorama, a space of privilege to be admired in all its splendor. The Orquideorama, the focusing point of the “Joaquín Antonio Uribe” Botanical Gardens, has received important awards, such as the Lápiz de Acero and Lápiz de Acero Azul 2007. It was one of four Colombian projects receiving awards as Best Architectural Work at the VI Architectural and Urban Design Biennial Show in Lisbon, Portugal. The venue is also used for cultural, artistic, and social events.
