Avant Garde in its style, this Park and Library, designed by world-renown Japanese architect Hiroshi Naito, was constructed by the Mayor’s Office of the city of Medellín. The site consist-ing of three main areas inspiring and inviting to reflexion and focusing on vegetation, water, and people, is located in Belén, a neighborhood of long-standing tradition. The library itself offers bibliographical collections, workshop rooms, indoor and outdoor auditoriums, exhib-it rooms, recreation areas, an Area Entrepreneurial Center or Cedezo, free-use computers with broad-band Internet access, cafeterias, stationery stores, general business stores, public areas, and greenspace and recreational areas. The complex, along with the other nine Park and Libraries conveniently located throughout the city, is a symbol of the renewed social change and physical transformation the city has gone through in the past few years.
